May 13 2024 Fine Arts Booster Meeting 7 : 00 PM - 8 : 00 PM 2023-2024 Fine Arts Booster Meeting Dates All Meetings will begin at 7:00pm in BHS Conference Room C271, near art gallery Monday, September 11 Monday, October 9 Monday, November 13 Monday, February 12 Monday, March 11 Monday, April 8 Monday, May 13 May 14 2024 Policy Committee Meeting 8 : 00 AM - 9 : 00 AM Pursuant to School Board Policy 2:150, the Board of Education may establish committees to assist with the Board's governance function and, in some situations, to comply with state law requirements. Each committee reports directly to the Board of Education. Committee members may include both Board Members and non-Board Members depending on the committee's purpose. Committee appointments are made at the organization meeting of the Board that is held following the consolidated election in April of odd numbered years. Committee meetings are typically held once per month. The purpose of the Policy Committee is to review existing policies, recommend changes where necessary, and propose new policies for consideration by the Board. May 14 2024 Open House: Culinary Arts Lab 6 : 00 PM - 8 : 00 PM Please join Barrington 220 and the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation for an open house inside the new culinary arts lab at Barrington High School! The new space was made possible by the $147 million referendum that Barrington area voters approved in March 2020. The Educational Foundation granted the district $111,000 to fund equipment, supplies, and other materials to develop a BHS Culinary Internship Program. The program will teach students professional culinary skills and techniques such as proper knife use, food safety, menu planning, cooking techniques, and more. Students will also learn about front-of-the-house operations like staffing, hospitality management, the economics of food, and marketing.
